or how to redirect your tax dollars to support Desert Sky
As an Arizona taxpayer, you have a unique opportunity with the Arizona Public School Tax Credit to support Desert Sky at no cost to you, just by redirecting some of the state income tax you have to pay anyway. As a dollar-for-dollar credit against state income taxes, not a deduction, it literally costs you $0. How cool is that!
How much tax liability do I have?
Ask your tax preparer, or look at your state tax form 140. From your ‘taxable income’ (line 45) calculate the amount of tax (line 46). You report your tax credit donation to a public school (Desert Sky!) on form 301 which is deducted from the amount of tax! Single filers can claim $200, and married filing jointly can claim $400. Our charter district number is #108732101.
Why donate to Desert Sky?
Please help support the wonderful educational opportunities offered to all children at Desert Sky Community School, Tucson’s only tuition-free charter school guided by the principles of public Waldorf education. Tax credit donations support gardening, handwork, foreign languages, violin and music experiences! We are grateful that tax credit donations can also now be used for campus construction and school lunch fees. Your tax credit donations, and those of your family members, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and faith community members help the school maintain and expand its well-rounded educational programming.
