Desert Sky is seeking an aide for a student requiring one-to-one support. The aide accompanies the student through the day from 8am to 2:45pm. Continuation of the position depends on continued enrollment of the student. Must have current Fingerprint Clearance Card. Rate of pay is $10/hour.
Desert Sky is seeking an assistant for the expanding Kindergarten. A friendly and responsible person needed to assist Miss Stephanie and Miss Barbara throughout the Kindergarten day. Must have current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card. Rate of pay is $10/hour.
Desert Sky is seeking two friendly, reliable, and responsible persons for an afterschool program providing a safe, fun, and Waldorf-friendly aftercare rhythm of outdoor play and indoor time. Must have a current Fingerprint Clearance Card. Must have current First Aid & CPR training. Rate of pay is $10/hour. Hours are 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
Subject teachers sought for specialty sessions, as many as 8 sessions per week. All subject teacher positions must have a Bachelor’s Degree and Waldorf familiarity, experience, or training. Must be able to attend in-house trainings two or more times a year. If qualified, one individual may teach more than one subject.
Handwork – A qualified Handwork teacher is accomplished at knitting, crochet, and cross-stitch, and has excellent classroom management. Handwork is “will work” and Handwork class can be the most important subject of the day.
Spanish or German – A qualified Foreign Language teacher is expected to draw on their own personal experience, as well as incorporating song, movement, dance and games to facilitate student learning and comfort with conversation. The Foreign Language teacher works with the faculty on a school festival: specifically, Dia de los Muertos (Fall) or Fasching (Spring). Must meet Highly Qualified Criteria such as Bachelor’s degree plus passing score on proficiency assessment, or a state teaching certificate for foreign language. This is a suitable position for a teachers who seeks the freedom to develop a creative foreign language curriculum that is Waldorf-friendly (without cartoons, computers, or recorded music).
