What is Waldorf Math?
Jamie York is a Waldorf math instructor, consultant, author, and lecturer. This series is based on his book series, “Making Math Meaningful.” He serves on the faculty at the Center of Anthroposophy as part of their Waldorf High School Teacher Education Program.
On his website jamieyorkpress.com he provides FREE Waldorf Lower School Math Practice and Review Sheets, and Arithmetic Facts Speed Sheets – as well as Sample Main Lesson Book Pages for you to DOWNLOAD. These complement the Making Math Meaningful® Waldorf Math books series for public, private, and home school teachers and parents. You will also find here downloadable PDF files outlining a Waldorf Math Curriculum for the lower grades.
Despite being in the heart of Silicon Valley, Waldorf School of the Peninsula students are not caught up in the gadget frenzy that has consumed so many other school children nationwide. Computers are not used in the elementary school and they are used sparingly at the high school level.
Public and Private Waldorf — Attached is a link to a letter from Will Stapp, the president of the Alliance for Public Waldorf Education, of which Desert Sky is a member. The first page of the letter is a well-written image of the relationship between public (including charter school) and private Waldorf schools.
