Desert Sky is a public charter school guided by the core principles of public Waldorf education and aligned to state standards. We are tuition-free and do not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or disability.

OPEN ENROLLMENT & WAIT LIST

All enrollment packets are placed in the order received, and students are admitted until the first day of school.  Once seats are filled, all remaining applicants are placed on a waiting list. You will be contacted when a seat is available.

Open enrollment for August begins online on January 1. On January 15th, if there are more completed enrollment packets than we have seats available, there will be a lottery to select the students to be enrolled. If we are not fully enrolled by January 15th, enrollment will continue in the order that completed enrollment packets are received, until seat capacity is acheived.

NOTES ON ENROLLMENT:

Enrollment priority: Siblings of current  students are given priority.  If you have questions about your returning student or sibling enrollment, please contact the Enrollment Director.

Enrollment eligibility: If your student has ever been expelled from any school, they may not be eligible for enrollment.

REGISTRATION

After you are notified of enrollment acceptance, please complete and submit the Registration paperwork promptly.

Within 30 days of enrollment acceptance: 

  • Student birth certificate, baptismal certificate, adoption paperwork, or other document showing student’s birth date and city of birth. We can make a copy for you, or send us a scan.

Before the first day of attendance: 

  • Student immunization record.  If you choose not to vaccinate, please complete an Immunization Waiver form (available on request), & write your initials at every vaccination you are waiving.  
  • Emergency Information BLUE CARD
  • If your student is coming from another school in Arizona,  please bring a copy of the Pupil Withdrawal form from that school.
  • Request for Release of Records  If your student has attended another school for Kindergarten or Grades, in Arizona or another state, please provide the name of their most recent school and sign the request for records.
  • Student Demographics and Support
